Double Doody - Two Exciting Workshops for Artists of all Ages, April 5 and 6

Featured artists in our current exhibition Curiouser & Curiouser, Jorden and David Doody are bringing their colourful and adventurous mixed media practice to Lambton County the weekend of April 4 - 6, 2014. Kicking it off with an appearance at our April First Friday celebrations on Friday, April 4, the Doody's are sticking around all weekend to host two dynamic workshops for adults and youth.

The Doody's will unleash your creativity in ways you never thought possible.

Take advantage of this rare opportunity to work along-side world class artists in our community. But warning: the Doody’s enthusiastic spirit may be contagious. These workshops are not suited for those without a serious sense of adventure.

Assemblage Sculptures and Curious Cast Creations - Adult Art Workshop
Saturday, April 5 - 11:00 am to 4:00 pm
Cost: $75.00

Discover how to incorporate a wide range of materials into your art practice through a contemporary interpretation of collage. Jorden and David will demonstrate the process of creating three-dimensional assemblage, focusing on the use of molds and multiples. Traditional and unique approaches will be shown, incorporating textiles, print, various mold making products, and more. Using examples from their own unique artistic practice, the Doody's will show you the practical steps for creating an assemblage, using found items and objects of interest.

Appealing to the curious beginner or the more experienced artist, this custom, hands on workshop is for adults interested in expanding the traditional boundaries of Assemblage.
Supplies will be provided, but feel free to personalize the project by bringing your own items of interest.

RAAW Workshop – Cut/Combine/Paint
Ages 13-18
Sunday, April 6 - 11:00 to 4:00 pm

The Doody’s are taking over our Random Acts of Art Workshop (RAAW) to teach you how to paint large and in charge.
Think collage making is just about sitting around with a pair of scissors and cutting up old magazines? No way! Visiting artists Jorden and David Doody will kick-off this workshop by helping you create a digital masterpiece using different images, patterns, colours and layers.

Then your awesome digital artwork will be combined to create a giant group collage that will be projected on panels, attached to the walls of the JNAAG Art Studio. Get your brush wet and experiment with paint and texture. The finished mural will be on display as part of the gallery’s May First Friday celebrations.

No painting experience necessary. All equipment and materials will be provided.
